Today we went on a two hour walk in 7F degree weather to see some of the other new buildings in our neighborhood, which included the Nur Astana Mosque. In addition to being a Mosque, it is also an Islamic Cultural Centre, but our translator didn't think we could go inside, so we just took pictures from the outside. I am curious about what the inside looks like.
At the other end of the quadrangle from the
Presidential Palace is the KazMunaiGas building, which is the state owned oil and gas company.
In the quadrangle they have several statues depicting Kazakh heritage and culture. Ben's favorite is the Archer.

The real question is: How was the Fried Chicken?!
We think it was a "Coming soon" type sign since the Domino's Food System next door didn't have fried chicken.
The mosque is gorgeous and I love the statue of the archer. So graceful!
