Ouch!

I know you all really come to this blog to read about Miranda, but my name is in the title, so indulge me for a moment.

I started playing co-ed soccer again after a four year hiatus.  The last time I physically exerted myself was walking a 5K in November.  Last night was our first game.  Ouch.

To make matters worse, I was off all day with Miranda since it was President's day.  I decided with all this free time I would make Spinach Enchiladas.  I used this recipe and added some shredded chicken to the filling.  Some highlights of this recipe ...

4 cups of cheese
2 cups of half & half
1 cup of heavy cream
1 stick of butter

And this is what I ate before playing my first soccer game in four years, at 8pm.  Ouch.

Happy Anniversary!

Ben and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary earlier this month. We decided to mark our first decade of marriage with new furniture. It's really not as unromantic as it sounds. Sure there was the practical component - I'd had one of our dining room chairs literally break underneath me, and I had repaired the other 5 at least once each. But that crappy, falling apart table and chairs was the first piece of furniture Ben and I ever bought together. So we did a major upgrade and I even had someone come in and paint the walls and the kitchen cabinets. The new furniture really classes up the joint and makes me want to have our floor re-grouted... Or re-tiled... But then we'd need to replace the cabinets... And the counter tops... Yeah, we're just going to stop here for now.

Speaking of professional photos...

The same week we went to Kazapalooza, I had a new photo taken at work for our company directory. I know it's a good picture, but it really just doesn't "feel" like me. Maybe because there is no evident snarkiness?

In case you were wondering ...

... spilling half a bottle of paint sample on my saltillo tile was not exactly how I intended to see whether or not the color looked good in the room. *sigh*

No more bunnies

Now that it's been almost two months and the subject is timely due to Easter, I'd like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that I am officially out of the bunny business.

Helen, our brown bunny, died a year and a half ago at the good old age of 9.5 years. Dana, the orange one, made it to 11 years and was blind and deaf for most of the last year. We loved the bunnies greatly and they provided lots of entertainment, but we decided that it is highly unlikely we will ever have bunnies again. In fact we've already sold the cage and all the accessories to someone from my work with a pregnant bunny.

I've long ago lapsed my membership in various rabbit rescue organizations and while a few of my bunny trinkets will remain on display, I am no longer collecting new rabbit trinkets (hint, hint).

New Haircut

My hair was finally long enough to cut-off and donate and I was happy to get rid of it. It also takes much less time in the mornings.
