Since Ben's birthday fell on Memorial Day this year, we celebrated his birthday for most of the weekend. One thing Ben wanted to do for his birthday was to fly kites with Miranda. Of course the weather decided it did not want to cooperate and we had one of the stillest days in weeks. He did manage to get his new kite up for a few seconds at a time, but that's about all. We just had a fun time hanging out on the play ground with some snacks.
On Monday we went to the zoo to see the new phase that just opened earlier this year. As members we get to go an hour and a half before it opens to the public which makes for a very pleasant time. There is also a section of the zoo that is designed for ages 5 and under. There is a swim area that we had to drag Miranda away from when it was time to go. I see many more days at the zoo in our future.
