This lazy Sunday morning we were trying to figure out something outside we could do with Miranda before it got too warm. I had previously told Ben about this "park" I had seen near our house. A while back I had seen some people there cleaning out this neighborhood lot. The during a cut through the neighborhood, it looked like there was a sign on the gate designating this lot as a park. So even though we could have walked it, (we only had an hour until we normally would have fed Miranda lunch, but more about that in Sunday, Part 2) we hoped in the car and drove the short 0.6miles over to check it out.
Much to all of our surprise, there was a giant hole in the middle of the park. A sinkhole to be exact. A sinkhole that happens to be an entrance to an urban cave system to be more exact. Yes, this park is really the Robber Baron Preserve managed by the Texas Cave Management Association. Being so close will come in really handy for Miranda's future spelunking efforts.
While this was a most interesting find today, a really big hole in the ground is not currently Miranda appropriate fun. So we headed off to part 2 of our Sunday adventure.
