We're alive!
And we're still married! Similar to Rachel and Rob's recent experience, Ben and I just survived a test to our marriage - protesting our property tax value. Nothing says trouble more than an actuary and an attorney trying to agree on the best arguments to make disputing our appraised value. I like spreadsheets and Ben likes case law. We were able to work it out and win a $13K reduction. Whew!

Congrats! When our appraisal comes out, we'll be calling!
We've successfully fought our appraisal several times, and basically have it down to a system. Being the MBA types, we're also in the spreadsheet camp, especially when the methodology that the appraisal districts have to defend is, so, well, poor. It's much more fun playing math games with people who aren't good at it and who have to do it "on the fly" once you get to the ARB.
